This is Rosewood, the book

Peter has been living with the people of Rosewood since he sat down to write his first play. They’re likeable and friendly and a little bit odd. You’re going to love each and every one of them…from Stanley and Otis to Dougie the Mayor. This is Rosewood is a heart-felt and hilarious collection of stories and clippings and general ephemera…like a scrapbook of sorts. Without pictures.

Angus

“There’s an immaculate paved trail that runs along the bay from the Lester B Pearson Filtration Plant to Ethel Thompson Park where it takes a sharp turn along the river, behind Tony’s Pizza and Stanley’s Menswear and the other Stanley’s Hardware and the River Street Gallery, all the way to the old water tower which hasn’t seen a paintbrush in years. It’s a lovely trail and we go out of our way to take care of it. That’s how we do things in Rosewood.

“If you visit our town, you should take a walk down that trail. You never know who you might run into. Phil or Earl or Mel from the Chip Truck. You might even run into Dougie, our mayor. There’s a good chance you’ll run into Angus who sleeps under the River Street Bridge on cold nights or in the gazebo at Ethel Thomson Park if it’s warm. If you get the chance to talk to him you should take it. No one knows Rosewood like Angus. And he does like to talk. If he wants to be left alone, don’t worry, he’ll tell you. If you can, you take him a sandwich, or take him some soup if it’s cold out. That’s what we do. We go out of our way to take care of him. That’s how we do things in Rosewood.”
